08 Nov Ambassador Calls for Urgent Action in El Salvador
Last week, we welcomed the Ambassador of El Salvador in the United Kingdom, Elisabeth Hayek-Weinmann, who met with our students to discuss the urgent social, economic and environmental problems currently facing the country.
As a direct policy maker, she shared her experience and challenges of working in one of the most vulnerable and risk prone countries in the world, due to high risk environmental degradation and natural disasters, social inequality and structural violence (on the top five most violent countries outside a war zone).
Students from our courses such as Development Economics BSc and International Development BA, will explore the issues Elizabeth raised and are contributing research to assist the country.
